Bryan pointed me to a page on the history of sausage making.
(It didnt actually tell me what Bread Rusk was,
but that is now history :) )
But it did tell me that the ancients made 'em.
"sausage beginnings came when man first domesticated animals in the
hills of Iran and Iraq"
"other historical records show that 5,000 BC the Sumerians in Babylon
made and ate sausages."
Todays question is :-
How did they get them suffed ?
Had metal working been invented by then and archimedian
screws(spirals) as well ? Did metal working predate animal
domestication ?
If not how did they do it by hand ?
Wooden funnels carved with flints and wooden plungers, I wonder ?
