It would be interesting to know just who the tasters were. I've always
gone 
for free range for taste. I was brought up eating home reared chickens 
though this was a luxury and they were only eaten a couple of times a year

or when an old hen stopped laying. I have found the occasional intensive 
reared bird I've bought to be sometimes disgusting, the cooked flesh
having 
a rather paste like texture.
