One of the problems I perceive from this ng is the broadness of its
church, meaning it covers food from the Indian sub-continent (not UK
restaurant food!), the UK restaurant scene (food and reviews) and more
besides, all stated as being acceptable in the charter. Some might
know I favour the non-restaurant food, and I am allowed, by the terms
of the charter, to discuss this.
However, I have contributed many recipes for the 'restaurant brigade',
wanting them to see that even half way to real Indian food is better
than the usual restaurant offerings, (my opinion, OK?). I do subscribe
to many forums, some specific to Indian food, where I contribute, and
learn much about this topic. I've never been flamed on these forums,
unlike on this ng, but hopefully, Elaine and a few others see that I
am very willing to help in discussing the practical aspects of cooking
Indian food.

We do not look for agreement in all topics, (that would be boring),
but being negative about it is not conducive to a good ng. And unless
being very pleasant, should not include any personal comments. I enjoy
James Silverton's comments (and have done so for many years, and those
of Ace, Pan*, and Ian Hoare in France.) So if people really want this
ng to continue, and to help Elaine justfy her space, we must make more
of an effort.
