Ethics of chocolate

by Halla <halla@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dec 30, 2004 at 02:07 AM

With the trend towards Fair Trade goods these days, what does the NG
think of fairly traded chocolate? Do you make a point of looking for
it or does taste rule supreme?

The site I mentioned a post ago (chocexpress) have an 'ethical' page
on their site, where they talk about sup****ting the small cocoa
producer and funding health centres. I admit that this is one of the
things that convinced me to give them a try, since I find lately that
the most divine chocolate is quite bitter if my conscience is pricking
me about the conditions of the growers.

Does anyone have recs. for FT choc? Divine, Green and Blacks?
Opinions?
