The Laurate - for Chef in HK.

Hi Chef,

Just to let you know, we went to The Laurate Chinese rest on the corner of

Shaftsbury & Wardour on Sunday, WA... Pai tui (Wa.. queue up ; ) but lucky

we arrived around 12.15 & managed to get a table upstairs for 8 people w/o

booking. The food was quite good & i found the steamed dimsum better then 
the fried ones. We only ordered 1 fried dimsum (Wu kok) & that was
terrible, 
cold & under fried, not that crispy but the yam dough & filling were 
good.... if they fried it properly & didn't rush it out. But i think it
was 
a leftover order from another table as it was cold given to us. The rest
of 
the steamed ones were good enough for London standard, it's very much a
yum 
cha place & every table i saw was filled with families & old people, i
even 
had to help one Ahpoh through the door, it felt very much like back in HK
or 
Asia again, will go again with a big group of people ; )  will have to try

the Peninsula sometime back that's on the other side of town for me :(
