Victor refuses to kowtow to anyone. I don't blame him. He's set his
goals and he is sticking to them without compromise except for
whatever may be physically forced upon him.
At his age, the human body experiences problems like type II diabetes,
insulin resistance, and hormone changes. These things are harder to
control when you're poor. Maybe this is what you're looking at.
Apart from that, he is out panhandling like a job. He has a very
strong work ethic, not to be swayed by anyone. There are times he's
out there 10 hours per day in the hot weather. He is indeed very
intelligent.
