There is a lot of knowledge here that is usually cheerfully shared.
Some are just long time avid meat burners like myself, but there are
others that actually own barbecue joints.

I certainly think with your background you could be a great
contributor.  A lot of us don't just barbecue or grill, but we cook a
lot of other things as well.

So hang around and  post as often as you want, with questions or
contributions!
