I've been referred here both by email and by post in another group. The
topic came about when I
made the distinction between "grilling" and "barbecueing." (sp?) So, I
thought I'd stop by, check
the place out, and see what's up here.
As just a bit of background, I'm into middle age now, and I work at home,
but the majority of my
adult life was spent working first as a prep cook, then a line cook, then
a sous chef, and finally
as a chef. No "formal" training, really, just a lot of hands-on learning
in various restaurants
where I worked. I finally burned out in the business, and decided to get
out while I still enjoyed
cooking.
Looking forward to browsing through the group, reading posts, and meeting
people, since I'm a major
fan of both good southern barbecue and of grilling. I'm fortunate to have
a covered ****ch, so I can
grill almost daily in the spring, summer, and fall, and I've been known to
also get out there in the
dead of winter, as well.
Nice to make your acquaintance, everyone...
