Brick - that place is still there! It has been in different hands a
couple of times, but in the same ones now for about 20 years or so.
The food is still great, and the bulk of their sales (after lunch) is
take out. You can eat at one of the few tables inside, or the picnic
tables outside. Same menu for years, served Texas style. Brisket,
sausage and chicken are the meats. Beans, coleslaw and potato salad
are the sides. Food served with slices of white onion, dill pickles,
and chunky white bread.
Don't believe they sell dessert on a regular basis.
Just off the highway, it is still painted barn red and still just has
the sign with "BBQ" and one that says "Barbecue" on it. I don't think
there is a name on the building.
When I am around there, that is on my list of things I have to do.
I am amazed though, that you found it. It is wayyy to easy to miss.
