Malted Milk Ball Pie
-
1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
2 cups crushed malted milk balls, divided
1 (9 ") graham cracker crust ^
1/3 cup marshmallow creme
1 (8 oz) carton Cool Whip,
-
Low Down: Use a fat-free diet ice cream, such as SPLENDA, and a Low fat
version of the marshmallow cream.
=
Mix ice cream & 3/4 cup crushed milk balls. Spread into crust. Freeze.
Combine marshmallow, 3/4 cup crushed milk balls & whipped topping.
Spread over ice cream mix. Freeze again. Just before serving, top with
remaining 1/2 cup crushed milk balls.
-
Prep note(s): ~ Crushed milk balls are easily accomplished with a
zip-lock bag & Ye Olde Rolling Pin. ~ ^Consider making a 'homemade'
graham cracker crust - sure; it's a 'bit' more work than just giong out
and 'buying' one...but this way you get to take advantage of the OTHER
flavors in grahams...such as Chocolate, and fat free....things you do
NOT have a choice in with the other store bought ones. ! ^
-
Variation(s): SPLENDA _does_ make _3_ flavors of ice cream; each more
'forgiving' than the 'standard'. You can also pick up a package of
'Neopolitan' that has all _3_ flavors in one package.....then you can
'mix-&-match'...1/2 the pie on one flavor, & 1/2 in one of the other 2
(they ALL go 'good' with chocolate !) Between the options in crust and
the additional options in filling....this 'puppy' is a veritalbe
'treasure' of different pies from the same root recipe.
