Cookbook Coffee

by "<RJ>" <baranick@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 21, 2007 at 06:23 AM

Cookbook; chapter on "Coffee"

"Use 2 tbs coffee per 6 oz cup of water"

Checked my ( Krupps ) coffeemaker.
Measure carafe capacity;  48 oz.
Ponder a bit;

Does ANYONE drink a 6 oz cup of coffee ?

If I use their coffee recipe,
that's 1 ( measuring ) cup of grounds
to make a 48 oz pot of coffee......
You could stand a spoon in that !!

I get a pretty sturdy batch of coffee
using 1/2 measuring cup of grounds.

The chapter went on to say;
"For after-dinner, brew using 3 tbs coffee per 6oz cup of water."
( sounds almost Turkish ! )

What grounds/water ratio makes your "good cuppa" ?
