As neat as it would be, since it would probably not be commercially
viable, how about as step one (for your own use), hack an electric
thermo pot (the kind that's ubiquitous in Asia) to incor****ate an
adjustment knob, and mount it above some sort of pour-over (Melitta,
Chemex, etc.)
