Drip Coffee Makers: temperature

by "JavaJoe" <JavaJoe@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 1, 2004 at 11:55 AM

I'm trying to find information on the brewing temperature of various brands
of drip coffee makers, but have been unsuccessful. I recently bought a
Melitta FastBrew coffee maker, because it was advertised as brewing at
~200
degrees. I'm not sure if it really does, (I read one review that said ir
fell far short of 200), but I'm ready to throw it in the trash, after
using
it a few times, because the filter basket overflows every time it brews.
(So far I've reduced the amount of coffee/water to 8 cups, and it still
overflows).

Can anyone provide any information on which brands heat water to the
recommended temperature range....or which do not?

Thanks
