'Sharp' is one thing. 'Bitter,' is quite another. I don't mind a hairy
lemon
marmalade and love lime pickle, but bitter marmalade???

Good heavens, no. Tesco's own. I said it was cheap.
..Someone does a wonderfull fresh orange marmalade, but alas, I can't
remember who. It was on offer once in Safeways about fifteen years ago. I
knew the name but... Not Wilkinson, and I don;t think it was Cooper.. Oh,
no
use asking now., It's long gone.

There are plenty of them but they all fail the 'sit on the knife' test,
and
are nearly all stuffed with pectin. The cheaper, common varieties are,
frankly, quite nasty orange jam with nothing to recommend them.
..
I often say expensive jam and marmalade makers should sell little sample
pots, like those little pots of paint, just enough paint to cover a square
foot... just enough stuff to cover a couple of slices of toast? Oh yes.
Honey, too.
Or a BIG sample case with a dollop of all the range. Oh yes... <drool at
the
thought of a decent plum jam. A jam with a small sour kick. and No, I
never
intend to make my own jams ever again. Chutney, yes. Jam etc. No, not
ever,
never, no more.>
..
Must go down now and make toast.
I'm off.
