I don't know what vintage of peugeot you have, but I managed to
'hydraulic' a
P306 diesel a few years ago in not very deep water. The shape of the
bumper,
and the position of the air intake, pointing forward and down just above
the
bumper make it exceedingly easy to get water into the works.
Later that same evening I went through much deeper water in my own
Mitsubi****
(petrol), deep enough to get me worried about it floating away, with no
detrement to the engines performance. I hadn't realised the water was as
deep. On my return dibbles were watching the water, and after several
diversions I got home just before they closed the last bridge into
town(they
were inspecting the water level as I crossed, then closed it).
At this site that was well flooded on that occasion (and I have seen a
picture of the houses (since demolished) there flooded in the 30s.
They are now building 'Executive Homes' on this site (now called
Watermeadows), starting at 2/3 of a million each. I dont think any locals
would touch them with the proverbial.
