bakery competition for amateurs and pros to be held at the Urban Green
Fair, Brockwell Park, Lambeth, London on August 31st
categories for "Sourdough bread", "white wheat bread", "cakes" etc all
with flour from the remaining watermills and windmills of the UK for
the winners, =A375 + trophy for "Best in Show", =A340 + trophy each for
"Best amateur loaf" and "Best pro loaf" and =A320 + trophy + signed copy
of "the Handmade Loaf" for "Best young baker" (16 and under)
top judge is bread correspondent and author Mr Dan Lepard assisted by
Peter Tatchell and local artist and restaurateur Bridget Hugo
there also be a mobile wood-fired oven in action with demos of bread
shaping and baking
even if you don't win anything there will be cider or perry plus
things to eat for participants
