Barm Question

by Terry <k8tjm@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 27, 2008 at 11:17 AM

I'm trying the Barm recipe from Crust and Crumb. I'm on the 4th day
and it is flat as a pancake. Going into the 3rd day it was really
growing, added the 3rd days ingredients and it seemed to start to
fizzle. Today it was separated and not doing anything. I mixed it a
bit before adding the suggested ingredients however it's a very wet
mixture, something that would pour with no problem. Instead of adding
the full water amount I cut it in half to make it a little less soupy.
Anyone make this before? How soupy should it be?

Also, I've been keeping it in a wide mouth glass jar with a screw on
top so it's air tight. Is this correct of should it have room to
off-gas and breath.
